I like the idea of IPad. and I would like to have something like it. but I read a lot of reviews and it seems that IPad is far from perfect. but also I prefer Windows over Apple. so is there something similar to IPad (that is running Windows, preferably) ?

Is there something similar to IPad that is running Windows on it?

Copy iPhone 4's iMovies to iPad

Posted by On June - 29 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Macworld – In response to my iMovie for iPhone review, one Mr. Lizard posed this question:

Is it possible to offload completed projects onto an iPad using the iPad Camera Connection Kit to free up space on the iPhone?

Indeed it is. as far as the iPad is concerned, the iPhone 4 (and earlier iPhones, for that matter) is just another camera. String the iPhone’s USB cable between the iPhone’s dock connector port and the USB camera connector attached to your Mac. the iPad’s Photos then launches with the Camera tab selected. any movies you’ve created with iMovie and then exported to the iPhone’s Photos app will be available to copy to your iPad. Just tap the movies you want to copy to the iPad and tap the Import button in the upper-right corner of the iPad’s screen.

This is a tremendous way to view your iMovies on a big(ger) screen in a hurry and makes the iPad Camera Connection Kit all that much more valuable.

I recently bought an 64Gb/Wifi iPad in Hong Kong. I plan to cut-up a SIM card so that I could use the iPad anywhere I go in the Philippines. Is there a way to add a bluetooth headset to the iPad so that I could also make calls? Transform it into a giant iPhone?

can you add a blue tooth phone to the iPad?

Bits is reporting that Google may soon be coming out with its own slate computer to rival the iPad. Eric E. Schmidt, chief executive of Google, told friends at a recent party in Los Angeles about the new device, which would exclusively run the Android operating system. People with direct knowledge of the project — who did not want to be named because they said they were unauthorized to speak publicly about the device — said the company had been experimenting in “stealth mode” with a few publishers to explore delivery of books, magazines and other content on a tablet.Whether this is a controlled leak or idle hearsay, a tablet that runs Google’s mobile operating system Android is a logical next step. Making Android exclusive to one device would be a significant departure from Google’s approach with cell phones, but a departure that makes a lot of sense. the Nexus One, tauted as the Google Phone that had been rumored for over a year, was a complete flop, mostly because it was NOT the Google Phone; it was one of many that ran Android, and the Motorola Droid stole much of the Android pr mojo before the Nexus One could capitalize on it. If Google wants to create the Google Table, it needs to give Android exclusively to one device, at least for a few months.

The coming device will also reinforce Google’s position as the looser, more open alternative to Apple, since it will almost certainly allow for Flash. it doesn’t take a secret source to figure that one, but here’s another quote from Bits anyway:

According to a guest at the party, mr. Schmidt offered one other piece of information: the Google device will run Adobe Flash content and games.

Steve Jobs has declared war on Adobe Flash calling it a buggy CPU hog that would drain iPad’s battery life. the exclusion of Flash from the iPad has irked many developers, and, of course Adobe itself. Google would be only too happy to play the part of Adobe’s night in shining armor.

BURLINGAME, Calif. — Lindsay Lohan. Miley Cyrus. Justin Bieber. the paparazzi’s favorite targets have all been busted stepping out with Hollywood’s most buzzed about piece of arm candy: the iPad. Lohan was caught using hers to shield her face from photographers.

Cyrus, meanwhile, recently accessorized her skinny jeans and loose-fitting blouse with a Starbucks grande iced-latte, a new handbag and Apple’s latest creation as she stepped out to get her hair done.

And while the rumors about Beiber dating Cyrus remain unfounded, his fling with the iPad is no myth: Photographers have caught the generously coiffed teen and his iPad on many occasions.

Even kids are getting in on this. Suri Cruise, the 4-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, has been seen with one. Apparently, the iPad is the ultimate accessory for the child who has everything.

It’s an old trick, of course. to boost their star power, celebrities will pair up in public with anyone–or anything–whose cool can rub off on them.

Unlike many celebrity flings, however, there’s reason to believe their love for the iPad is very real. take Alyssa Milano. She’s a leading source of animal news for Twitter users. and what better way to keep cranking out the tweets than with the iPad’s 9.7-inch touch-sensitive screen?

A decade ago, a starlet toting around a portable computer would have been unthinkable. Like Milano, however, the beautiful people have become what they have so long resisted: nerds whose addiction to Twitter, Facebook and even e-mail rival that of the sweatiest 13-year-old comic book fan.

Other celebrities are using the iPad as a reward. Oprah Winfrey has given everyone on her staff an iPad, and a $10,000 bonus.

Of course, for some the iPad is little more than a clever gag. David Letterman used one to read a list of “Top 10 questions to ask yourself before standing in line for the iPad.” or at least he tried to, before turning to his familiar paper cards.

Stephen Colbert used his to chop salsa on his TV show and added: “If you’ve already got an iPhone, a lot will be familiar to you on the iPad. the same touchscreen technology, the same apps. and just like the iPhone, you can’t make calls with it.”

For most other celebrites, however, the iPad is no joke. in part that’s because this sweet little piece of geek comes cheap. Apple reportedly didn’t seed the iPad to celebrites; it saw no need. Like the relatively cheap Toyota Prius, the $500 iPad is a status item even B-listers can afford.

I’ve been doing a bit of online shopping and i want the 16Gb wifi Ipad. unless it’s bidding on places like ebay i have only found a price of about 429 pounds. Does anyone know of a place that sells for less, i’m really short on money and it will take me months to save up?

Is there anywhere in the UK that sells the IPad for a cheaper price?
