Im sorry but this is very stupid. I dont think its better then an overpriced netbook. first for Tickets, in the case that is what you need, keyboard is VERY important. So a netbook is far superior if you need to access tickets on the go.

I would not compare the Ipad to replace a phone. If I need to be able to access tickets all the time, everywhere, I would for sure not use an Ipad, neither a netbook or a notebook. I would just use the phone, because my phone has keyboard and even without it there are people that can write faster with a phone then I can with my computer. So if its portability, no way the ipad is going to be better then a small device. the ipad is not as small as a phone or as light to take it everywhere including the bathroom. If you need it as primary device a netbook is far superior and 3 times less that cost.

I dont say the ipad sucks, but maybe for webdesigners, people that cannot or dont want to use a keyboard and prefer hands or just people that dont even have a laptop its a wonderful device but if you ask me i think the most important piece of a computer is the keyboard. Not even the mouse is very important. Once you know how to shortcut your way to every app and use shortcuts for everything productivity raises. Its impressive that some people did not figured this out yet.

Most people start using the mouse and then when they need to do daily things again and again its frustrating and time consuming, just like it will be with an ipad. using hands is going back, even worst then a mouse that only has to move a little for everyday tasks as opposed to moving fingers over a screen. You will never be as fast or productive with someone that fully uses an keyboard and his 10 fingers instead of one or two. having to use the hand for everything just makes me sick. maybe for basic stuff and using it 5 minutes, but no way for daily tasks and work. the iphone worked but with a phone hitting such small keys is another thing, but having a touch the screen is something that i dont like to much. Its 10 finders against 2 maybe.

Also I would not even touch Apple based on their “free” views and now that they dont even allow flash shows that they only want people to force into their own sofware and apps. Not even Microsoft is as harsh on their own clients as Apple. Not to mention its way overpriced if you take it apart and look the hardware its nothing out of another world. Any device that costs 3 time less is more powerful. 500$ for what? no flash, no camera, no webcam? Just a simple tablet pc whic HP is far better. An HP Slate or a Dell Mini 5 would do the job as well.

Hulu Eyes Charge for IPad Users

Hulu Eyes Charge for IPad Users

Ars Technica reports: Your favorite shows from Hulu may be coming to the Apple iPad after all, but only if you’re a paying customer. Sources speaking to MediaMemo say that Hulu is considering a pay version of Hulu on the iPad as part of its larger plan to eventually charge for content.

The company has been entertaining the idea of introducing some kind of pay model to its TV and movie offerings since at least mid-2009 and probably earlier. Since then, Hulu has been discussing the possibilities a little more publicly, with the most recent talks involving the idea of putting back episodes of shows behind a paywall while keeping recent TV episodes free.

The latest report has the company considering moving from a one-screen model (keeping shows limited to your browser) to a three-screen service: computer, TV, and mobile. “Just three screens alone is pretty enticing,” one unnamed executive told MediaMemo.

Indeed, the browser limitation was one that we heavily criticized when the idea of Hulu charging for content first came out; if the company allowed TV and mobile streaming as part of the subscription plan, but kept browser-watching free, it could very well entice consumers to fork over a few dollars every month. “Everyone’s concerned about making a strong offering at a good price, and not undercutting the existing business,” another source said.

Such a move move wouldn’t be surprising—it’s a common practice for companies that offer multiple tiers of service to only make extras available to paying subscribers. the bigger question would be how Hulu plans to bring its content to mobile devices when Flash support is still missing from the most popular of those devices (iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad included).

The company isn’t stupid, though—we were told recently that Hulu listens closely to customer requests and is constantly evaluating how it can improve the viewing experience. Translation: we’ll consider ditching Flash for other technologies if our customers want it bad enough (and we can convince the content providers to go for it).

With Apple and Adobe having conflicting interest, it seems the release of content on iPad by Conde Nast would be possible once there is a resolution between the two. with Apple already having released its iPad tablet PC, publishers are eagerly intending to load their content on it. also, Conde Nast is willing to supply its content for Apple iPad but nothing has been announced yet. The plan is to provide the Wired mag on the iPad in the beginning and experience with variety of prices, Ads along with ways to digitize the publication at the same time.

Conde Nast has been putting considerable time and efforts to create a version of Wired, which is able to operate on Apple iPAD. Conde Nast released an innovative version of the Wired publication device during fall of 2009 and also gave a demo in front of a small industry crowd before the launch of Apple iPad in Jan. again in Feb, another similar demo was given at TED meet.

Unfortunately Conde Nast applications support Adobe Flash instead of iPad and hence it is unable to launch the content until the issues between Apple and Adobe is over. once this settles down, Conde Nast plans to provide Wired on iPad along with other publications too. Another application, which can be accessed through iPhone is the GQ mag.

Conde Nast will continue its research and development activities by end of October2010 to have better options of its distribution models.

Watch this space for more development on this as well as all the latest e-reader news.

The Good E-Reader Magazine, the April edition of which is already out, also has in depth news and analysis of the iPad with more coming in future issues. So make sure you subscribe to the mag to keep yourself informed. The first issue costs just $1.99.
