Microsoft steps it up a notch and offers Apple developers money to switch platform

by Sebastian Anthony (RSS feed) Jun 18th 2010 at 7:35AM

In a bid to drum up support for its upcoming Windows Phone 7 platform, Microsoft is reportedly offering ’substantial’ amounts of cash to iPhone developers if they agree to port their apps to its new smartphone platform.

This follows in the footsteps of a rumor that Microsoft may change its mobile development tools to allow easier porting from iPhone/iPad Objective C to Windows Phone 7’s C# and Silverlight. the developer that contacted PocketGamer seems to think that Microsoft will have to offer both money and better porting tools if it wishes to woo the iPhone’s burgeoning crowd of game developers.

Desperate plea, or simply Microsoft putting money to good use? you decide.
